Matt who?

I’ve been studying music since I was 4 with piano, recorder, clarinet and music theory lessons over the years. Which was followed up by a Sound Recording and Music Technology diploma at the Gateway School of Music.

As part of a secondary school boys’ choir (K-12 for any American visitors) I sang alongside some of the World’s top orchestras including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra and London Symphony Orchestra in several of London’s top classical venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Festival Hall, Barbican and Westminster Abbey. This included a First Night of the Proms performance of Mahler’s 8th Symphony conducted by Lorin Maazel, a BBC Radio recording of Benjamin Britten’s Spring Symphony conducted by Sir Simon Rattle and a critically acclaimed recording of Mahler’s 8th for EMI conducted by Klaus Tennstedt.

I’ve played bass in a number of bands playing punk and rock originals and covers and have been honing my music production craft since the 1980s in my home studio.

I now write everything from classical to rock to electronica intended for sync opportunities for TV and film putting many years of experience to good use. I also offer a range of recording, mixing and mastering services for local musicians and groups.

I hope that I can help you in some way on your musical journey and look forwards to working together. If you want to license any of my existing music or discuss a recording or mixing session please contact me via email at contact@mattstaplesmusic.com
